Back and sick like a dog

Paris was FUN... Here's the recap:

Met some new friends...

Found out that wine is cheaper than soda in Paris and their cheap red is better than most of our red... Tea at a pho restaurant costs $2.

Eiffel Tower Visit at night only b/c in the morning, it looks like CRAP.

Champs de Elyss very pretty as well b/c of the Xmas lights, but not that special overall.  Versailles is so worth it.. extremely beautiful.. But they are under construction, so go  in July.

Louvre was amazing, but as they hate Americans, none of the exhibits have english titles, so you are unable to fully appreciate the artwork.. blah..But it was really pretty, you can just stand there and be in awe of the place.  But be prepared to spend the entire day there we were there for 4 hours and we didn't finish walking through the entire museum.

Arc du Triomph was just nice and dandy, just take pics and move on, but still beautiful.

Notre Dame: Beautiful, but made famous only by that book, too bad.

FOOD was delicious.  They have that wow factor everywhere.  I usually don't eat lamb, but I had this lamb wrap thing at Latin Quarters and it was delicious.  Just pick any pastries in any bakery and it's good.  But you must try their macarons.  It's made famous by Marie Antoinette and it's damn good.  Crepes, how can you not love them??  Cheese.. omg.. their cheese is awesome.. And cheese is fromage in French.. cool.. hehe.

Their metro system is pretty easy to use and we never got lost. how 'bout that? Visited other places as well, but can't really spell them.. c'mon never took French in High School. Sacre Couer?? That other famous church.  Rue De la.. something..

The architecture is just amazing in France.  Every street, alley and building just looks amazing.

Parisians are actually pretty rude overall, so push BACK.

On a whim, bought myself a Eurostar Train ticket (The BULLET TRAIN.. whoop whoop, fastest in the world, I think) to London and that was fun.. too bad that's where I caught the flu.

Must visit the British Museum when you are in London and if you are a food junkie, visit Borough Market near London Bridge b/c they have the best food in London... omg.. blogging about it makes me want to head back there to eat.  They got rabbit meat, cheese, bakeries, sandwiches, seafood paella, pies and man, you can just stuff yourself.  It's like a huge food market.  Also Tower Bridge and the Tower of London... the grandeur just amazes you.

Want to lose weight?? Come catch my germs b/c this flu will make you lose appetitite, cause diarrhea, gagging/vomiting and also coughing and hacking your lungs out so you can't sleep.  I should bottle this stuff and sell it.  After a week of this, I bet you'll be dropping 5-10 lbs.  That's the new diet, my friends.

Will update w/ pics when I have time.. maybe when the coughing stops??

So my boss gave me a Christmas present, which was really thoughtful.  She went to this cheese store and asked the sales person, "If this person loooooves cheese, what type of cheese should I get her?"

So, I got this really buttery cheese, where it's so soft that you can use it as a spread.  I have no idea what it is, but I just thought it was really nice of her to do that.  On top of that, she also got me this rose champagne b/c she says my tequila days are over, so she got me champagne instead.  On top of that, we also got a Christmas bonus.  Let's say it's enough for my trip to Paris.

On that topic, I'm almost packed.  I packed all my undergarments and jeans and dresses.  The only thing left are the Christmas presents, the toilet/daily essentials, and shoes.  After this packing, I realized that I actually have a lot of bras and underwear.  I packed 2 weeks worth and I still have another 2 weeks supply in my drawers.  Maybe it's time i stop buying them.

Just 6 more days to go....

Holiday Food and Toy Drives

I remember back in elementary school where there used to be competitions to bring in canned food.  They were fun b/c every morning, right after we say the pledges, the principal would announce which class was leading.  IT was really quite a race.

But now that we've grown up, we tend to forget about donating.  Is it b/c we don't have time, energy, or we don't have incentive?  It was really sad to see that the bins weren't that full at our building.  I brought in like 10 cans of food and cereal, but I don't think our building made that much effort.

As to the toy drive this week, I hope people will bring in some toys.  I mean with the holidays nearing, don't people feel like giving?  Seriously, we adults can spend $40 on a meal (per person), but we can't spend $5 for a toy for a kid in need?

PEOPLE: Please donate this holiday season. With the economy in decline, there are people that need our help.  Toy drive cans are all around the Financial District, shopping mall, banks, and even Borders.  Please help by donating.  Tis the season to give.

Happy Holidays!
